My explorations along the Fox River in NE Wisconsin provide the inspiration for this ongoing series. Merging the abstract with the familiar, the rare with the ordinary, the organic forms in these paintings hint at landforms, sky, trees, water. Like Per Kirkeby and Gerhardt Richter, two artists I admire, these pieces, at their best, balance on the knife edge between abstraction and representation.
